Global Search Awards 2026 Finalist: How Stagwell Search+ Is Redefining Brand Performance in the Age of AI Search

First, who we are

Stagwell is the global challenger network transforming marketing through AI. We deliver scaled creative performance for the world’s most ambitious brands, connecting culture-moving creativity with leading-edge technology to harmonize the art and science of marketing. Led by entrepreneurs, our specialists in 45+ countries are unified under a single purpose: to drive effectiveness and improve business results for our clients.

AI Has Rewritten the Rules of Search

Search has changed more in eighteen months than in the previous decade. Discovery, evaluation and decision-making increasingly happen inside AI-generated answers, across AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and a fast-growing set of commerce and retail assistants, often without a website visit. Brands are no longer competing only for rank. They are competing for inclusion, accuracy and trust within the answer itself.

That shift is exactly what we built Stagwell Search+ to solve.

Stagwell Search+ OS is the industry’s first agentic, closed-loop operating system designed to orchestrate brand performance across AI Search. It gives brands a single, unified system to diagnose, influence and measure their performance in AI-mediated discovery.

The AI Search Blind Spot

The move to AI-driven search has opened a gap between how brands are actually discovered and how their performance is measured. We saw three challenges repeating across verticals:

  • Invisible influence: Brand decisions are increasingly shaped inside AI-generated answers, beyond the reach of traditional analytics.
  • A measurement black hole: Existing platforms optimise for traffic and rankings, rather than AI visibility, recommendation or sentiment.
  • Fragmented signals: AI systems evaluate brands using signals across Paid, Owned, Earned and Shared media, yet most organisations still operate these channels in silos.

The result is a growing disconnect between reported performance and real-world influence. Brands can appear stable in traditional reporting dashboards while quietly losing share in AI-mediated discovery.

What Makes Search+ Different

Search+ was built as a complete AI Search orchestration system, differentiated by three core innovations:

1. Closed-loop performance (Detect. Fix. Measure. Repeat.)

Search+ detects gaps using real AI Search data, recommends structured Fix Packs across Paid, Owned, Earned and Shared media, and measures impact through proprietary metrics such as Share of Prompt. Those results are fed back into the system, enabling performance to improve over time.

2. A proprietary Brand Knowledge Graph and dynamic prompt universe.

Search+ maps brands across prompts, entities, competitors and categories. Unlike static prompt-tracking tools, it builds a living prompt universe that expands with real-world signals and surfaces emerging areas of demand before competitors reach them.

3. A multi-agent system driving real-world execution.

Search+ operates through a suite of specialised agents responsible for detection, strategy, execution and governance. Together, they enable continuous optimisation across the full AI Search ecosystem, moving brands beyond isolated insights and workflows.

Proof in Practice

  • For one brand, Search+ identified a growing problem: AI Search platforms were assembling a fragmented narrative from disconnected sources. As AI-generated answers became an increasingly important source of discovery and consideration, the brand risked losing control of its story.

Search+ detected the narrative drift, identified the signals driving it and generated prioritised actions to strengthen authoritative sources, helping steer AI systems towards a more accurate representation. Within the first week, we saw:

  • An increase in Share of Prompt
  • 90.4% positive sentiment across AI-generated answers.
  • Improvement across all four core AI models.
  • Owned pages accounting for 36.1% of citations

More importantly, the brand moved from reacting to AI-generated narratives to actively shaping them, creating a repeatable framework for AI Search performance.

Orchestrating Brand Performance in the AI Search Era

The next era of search will not be won through isolated optimisations or another reporting dashboard. As discovery becomes more conversational, multimodal and agentic, brands will need to understand the full set of signals that shape how AI systems understand, select and recommend them.

For us, the next step is continuing to close the gap between insight and action. We’re expanding the Search+ agent ecosystem, deepening our Brand Knowledge Graph and making AI Search performance increasingly accountable to real business outcomes. The goal isn’t simply to help brands appear in AI-generated answers. It’s to give them a repeatable system for earning visibility, accuracy and trust as search continues to evolve.
